Our client is an international energy services company operating in engineering & production facilities, well support and gas turbine services. Employing over 28,000 personnel worldwide they operate in 50 countries

As Commissioning Engineer your main responsibilities will include

Generation of commissioning procedures.
Witnessing factory acceptance tests.
On site (onshore and offshore) commissioning of the new/modified facilities.
Generation of commissioning completion dossiers.
Ensuring the timely handover to the operations of fully commissioned plant.
Control and updating of certification progress on site.
Co-ordinate the carrying out of modifications/repairs arising during commissioning activities

Education & Qualifications:
HNC / Degree or City & Guilds with relevant experience.

Specific Training / Specialist Skills:
Familiar with DCS systems, preferably Rockwell and Honeywell.
Familiarity with offshore & onshore O & F processes.
Good knowledge of certification (GOC).
PC application skills - Microsoft Word, Excel etc.

Experience:
Experience in oil and gas industry or similar industry, in an engineering/operations role.
Knowledge and understanding of key documents such as P+ID's, Cause and Effects, Fire and Gas logic diagrams.
Hands on experience of commissioning new process facilities

As Commissioning Engineer your main responsibilities will include:

  • Development of the commissioning strategy, planning and coordination of the relevant procedures for start up
  • Represent commissioning interest in regular planning and progress meetings.
  • Provide commissioning guidance to OCS's and Engineering as and where required.
  • Provide accurate and timely weekly progress input.
  • Implementation of offshore commissioning activities.
  • Co-ordination, allocation, monitoring and reporting of onshore and offshore commissioning resources to meet plan.
  • Provide guidance, development, coaching and support of all offshore construction personnel assigned to the project.
  • Development of commissioning and start up dossiers

Education & Qualifications:

  • Industry recognised qualifications (preferred) with a training background representative of the development of knowledge and skills

Training / Skills:

  • Electrical and or Instrumentation apprenticeship with proven record work experience over time specific to commissioning of plant and equipment

As Senior Commissioning Engineer your main responsibilities will include

  • Provide and agree commissioning deliverables and be responsible for ensuring those deliverables are completed to plan.
  • Provide supervision and direction for the commissioning engineers and technicians assigned
  • Ensure safe execution of all commissioning scopes on various client sites.
  • Produce, discuss and gain approval for associated Cost Time Resource (CTR) estimates.
  • Set system limits (LOSH) and provides guidance on construction activities, ensuring that systems are constructed by system and not purely by area, in conjunction with certification engineer.
  • Technically review documents, making recommendations for change where necessary.
  • Ability to read technical documents and understanding e.g. P&ID’s, Process Flow Diagrams and Cause & Effects.
  • Close co-ordination with construction group to ensure that commissioning plan is aligned to ensure safe and timely completion of on and offshore scopes.
  • Close liaison with and manage vendors and associated interfaces.
  • Fully conversant and knowledge of company’s completions tool GOC.
  • Provide support for on site activities ensuring that issues raised from site are closed out in a timely manner.
  • Critically review proposed content of and attend FAT’s.
  • Co-ordinate and ensure that Independent Verifying Body requirements are met.
  • Where required plan and supervise on site commissioning activities
  • When offshore manage the interface with construction team and operations personnel
  • Interface with engineering management, construction focal point, project delivery leads, client commissioning and operations personnel.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience

  • HND in Relevant Engineering/Construction Discipline preferred
  • Current Offshore Survival and Fire Fighting Certificate preferred
  • Current Medical Certificate preferred
  • Working knowledge of industry recognised Engineering / Analytical programmes preferred
  • Proven track record of supervision of others
  • Proven track record of delivering commissioning scopes for Brownfield sites
  • Demonstrable Oil & Gas industry experience.
  • Conversant with standard software systems e.g. word, excel, project.
  • Current Offshore survival and medical
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Good Team Working
  • Valid Work Permit - Essential
