As Senior Mechanical Engineer your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the preparation of CTR’s and man-hour estimates via the Company Management System where applicable.
  • Execute technical duties in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure project deliverables are generated via the Company Management system where applicable.
  • Review and check the work of others.
  • Assist the Lead or Principal Engineer in the planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities.
  • Liase with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
  • Provide added value to the development of their discipline / function.
  • Direct sub-ordinate engineers in their work.
  • Assist the lead engineer in the compilation of weekly reports on progress via the Company Integrated Management system where applicable.
  • May have responsibility for the performance of others within their discipline / function.
  • Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel.
  • Deputise for the Principal Engineer – provision of holiday, sickness cover when required
  • Prepare engineering concepts and issue into detail design.
  • Carry out manual and computer analysis.
  • Prepare technical data for construction and commissioning.
  • Prepare construction and commissioning procedures.
  • Review and comment on vendor information and assist with inspection and testing.
  • Carry out single and inter-discipline checks and reviews.
  • Review and check subordinate engineers work.
  • Review weight estimates.
  • Attend meetings as and when required.
  • Carry out onshore / offshore survey and answer site queries.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience:

 

  • Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline preferred
  • Educated to degree level in engineering discipline preferred
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred
  • Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
  • Conversant with appropriate technical software
  • Aware of latest technical developments
  • Current Offshore Survival Certificate.
  • Current Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Demonstrable years in relevant professional experience
  • Ability to direct and guide engineers and designers
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good team working skills

  • Undertake duties and responsibilities as a Commissioning Engineer as directed by the Commissioning Manager 
  • Review commissioning documentation for compliance with; specifications and user requirements; safety requirements; Legislation; AWE Standards; Codes of Practice and good engineering principles 
  • Attendance at Design Reviews and Hazops as the 'commissioning' representative for projects of a multi-discipline nature 
  • Provide commissioning support to the Re-Kit projects in a safe and consistent manner in accordance with company procedures and site licence conditions 
  • Work with and provide support for colleagues throughout company



Skills & Experience
Professional qualification in an engineering discipline 
Relevant experience in commissioning 
Full member of an appropriate Institute (desirable) 
Good understanding of electrical design/installation/testing/commissioning experience 
Familiar with site licence conditions 
Familiar with company operating instructions and work instructions for commissioning 
Familiar with design guides and commissioning requirements 
Legislation, standards and codes of practice 
Safety systems, practices and safety administration 
Work in commercial and industrial environments 
Experienced in the commissioning of a wide verity of equipment, processes and safety systems 
Computer literate, with experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite 
Possess excellent technical knowledge 
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work constructively with people of all levels and disciplines 
Good oral, written and presentational skills including ability to produce high standard safety documentation 
Clear concise and fluent communicator, unambiguous in exchanging information at all levels 
Learn from others and disseminate gained knowledge to others 
Undertake continual personal development (CPD)

As Commissioning Engineer your main responsibilities will include

Perform technical review of design drawings / deliverables
Review and contribute to construction workpacks and planning with a view to achieving early and efficient client handover
Develop discipline commissioning work orders, plans, documentation, input into multi discipline commissioning procedures and handover documentation for early and efficient client acceptance
Witness factory acceptance tests where required

Education & Qualifications:
Fully time served with recognised apprenticeship, with Technical Qualification in subject discipline (HNC min.).

Experience:
Sound knowledge and experience of construction methods, mechanical packages, leak testing and completions.
Commissioning oil and gas related experience
