As Senior Commissioning and Completions Engineer, you will develop commissioning strategy and philosophy documents. You will also ensure that the project commissioning and completions strategy is adequately considered during the Phase II Onshore Development Concept Definition, agreed with Operator, and properly transferred to the Execution Phase.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Ensuring that adequate technical definition is provided in the formulation of commissioning and completions assumptions, in the concept definition engineering activity and relevant cost estimates.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper commissioning and completions input is provided during Front End Engineering Desing (FEED) execution.
  • Ensure that proposed execution strategies are robust in terms of commissioning strategy for onshore installations.
  • Coordinate all commissioning and completions issues related to the development concept.
  • Ensuring that all opportunities and risks related to commissioning and completions are properly evaluated and managed.
  • Incorporate commissioning and completions requirements early in the FEED, during the definition of packages and the finalisation of contracting strategies.
  • Identify the tools required to integrate commissioning and completions among the various packages and contracts.
  • Identify and support subsequent detailed design and construction activities till the handover to the production and maintenance phase of the project.
  • Assisting in the preparation of contract strategy and promoting meetings/forums/workshops with representatives of local industries.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualification in an engineering discipline relevant to facilities and infrastructures for oil and gas field development.
  • Substantial demonstrable experience in the oil and gas industry, mainly in commissioning and completions management.
  • Understanding of how oil and gas development projects are implemented.
  • Project management skills, including planning and costing.
  • Demonstrable experience in pre-execution project definition phases e.g., systems boundary definition , definition of commissioning requirements to be included in ITT’s.
  • Significant previous experience in oil and gas commissioning activities in remote regions and challenging environment (artic, sub-artic, shallow waters, swamp areas,
  • ecologically sensitive areas).
  • Knowledge of the drivers and obligations influencing systems handovers.
  • Previous experience in FSU countries and Caspian region would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of key technical details to be addressed for a successful commissioning strategy while maintaining a high level perspective of the field development.

  • Capability to work on several different scenarios and be open minded.
  • Ability to problem solving; analytical mind.
  • Supervisory skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to develop junior staff, both expatriate and RoK Nationals.
  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills to facilitate liaison between various stakeholder groups and departments within the Project.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Full command of English, written and spoken.
  • Ability to write high quality technical reports.
  • IT literacy with relevant software (Microsoft office).

Working Conditions:
Based in Milan, with frequent trips to locations in United Kingdom, Western Europe, Kazakhstan and other Caspian region countries.

The salary for this role is £500 - £525 GBP per day.

Our client is one of the largest international Oil & Gas companies in the world with operations covering the entire energy chain. The group operates in over 130 countries and employs over 95,000 personnel worldwide. They are currently looking to recruit a Pipeline Commissioning Engineer based in Aberdeen.

As Pipeline Commissioning Engineer your main responsibilities will be to:
* Develop best practise interfaces with onshore/offshore entities to ensure the smooth handover of commissioned equipment
* Develop and integrate a commissioning plan in alignment with company requirements through corporate, operations and 3rd party meetings
* Provide an overview and management feedback ensuring safe execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning scope of work at contractors and company sites
* Provide guidance on matters relating to Mechanical Completions, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and start-up assistance scope on projects, change reports, technical and development studies
* Provide a single point of contact for Ops interface on commissioning activities
* Develop commissioning management procedures
* Administrate ICAPS Software and coordinate training courses for supplier and company personnel
* Prepare reporting using ICAPS (planning, progress monitoring and punch list control)
* Perform technical review of design drawings and deliverables with regard to suitability for commissioning
* Review construction plans with a view to achieving early and efficient handover to Ops
* Liaise and manage interfaces with Operations & Projects
* Witness factory acceptance tests
* Ensure safe working practices are carried out within the commissioning team and verify that safety procedures are implemented by the commissioning team
* Inform project managers and engineers regarding ongoing project commissioning status
* Accept delegation of authority from Pipelines Manager

Qualifications and experience required:
* Engineering qualification with significant experience in the Oil and Gas industry
* Knowledge of offshore engineering, construction and commissioning activities and operations
* Man management capability to effectively and safely lead a commissioning team of contractors and vendors towards successful project completion
* In depth knowledge of safety legislation and pipeline engineering/commissioning regulations and procedures
* Proven ability to anticipate potential areas and resolve these

This is a contract position.

The salary for this position is negotiable.

Our Client has a vacancy for a Commissioning Planner, based in Calgary, Canada. This is a contract position.

Job Function:

  • The Planning Lead reports directly to the Commissioning Planning Manager for functional guidance on work processes and system integrity.
  • The Lead Planner’s role is to ensure that the project obtains the quality needed to achieve project goals related to planning.
  • The Planning Lead will provide quality control over BTOO and the Contractors’ planning staff in development and maintaining the Commissioning Schedules to ensure the project is executed in accordance with Project Management System (EMCAPS) expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • The responsibilities of the Planning Lead include facilitating the use of the EMCAPS within the Project.
  • This position is responsible for preparation of plans/schedules, statusing and implementation of project controls systems out of the BTOO and contractors’ offices to track progress and monitor trends.
  • Line responsible for executing planning in compliance with EMCAPS.
  • Monitor activities consistent with plans for Post Gate 3 Plans and make required corrective adjustments in response to deviations from plan.
  • Assess Management of Change impact for assigned activities during post-Gate 3.
  • Monitor and control the Commissioning Activities to agreed plans and processes.
  • Oversee BTOO and Contractors’ progressing system and status. Identify corrective actions to enable activities to be brought back on schedule when deviations are observed.
  • Oversee Contractors’ commissioning planning resources to ensure appropriate work procedures are followed in developing commissioning planning deliverables, to allow effective functional verification of plans and to share best practices and lessons learned.
  • Interface with engineering, execution, Controllers and other Business Services related functions such as Procurement, Planning and Document Control.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Substantial experience in an engineering or operations assignment.
  • Extensive experience in a variety of project management positions (see Skill Areas).
