They are currently recruiting for the position of Lead Process Engineer, based in Seoul, South Korea.

Job Description

The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for managing a small process team overseeing the EPC Contractor, including reviewing all the EPC Contractor's process engineering procedures and systems.

  • Review Client technical requirements and ensure these are incorporated in EPC Contractor's project related specifications and design drawings.
  • Review of project deliverables including:-
  • Process engineering procedures
  • Technical specifications
  • Data sheets
  • P&IDs
  • Safety, environmental and operability reviews (HAZOP, ENVID, SIL, etc)
  • Relief system design (PSV sizing, flare hydraulics and radiation analysis, etc)
  • Coordinate Process related issues with the other disciplines.
  • Ensure overall quality of the Process design by performing regular reviews.
  • Apply knowledge/skills to a range of activities; act as a technical resource to others in own area and to colleagues with less experience
  • Understand Client needs and identify solutions to non-standard requests.

Skills & Experience

An experienced Lead Process Engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience including design office and site experience gained with an EPC Contractor.

  • Process engineering leadership experience on large EPC projects
  • Must be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of European, American and International standards applicable to the oil & gas and petrochemical industries (as relevant to the CSA discipline)
  • Ability to apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge to address complex problems and non-standard situations. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
  • Capable of explaining difficult concepts and able to persuade others to adopt a point of view. Able to motivate other team members.
  • A Chemical Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Chartered Engineer
  • Process engineering leadership experience of PMC projects
  • Middle Eastern experience with an engineering contractor.

Job Description

  • Oversee discipline activities of EPC Contractor.
  • Review of EPC Contractor engineering deliverables within given discipline and ensure timeliness of completion.
  • Collaborate with EPC Contractor to identify and overcome design issues within given discipline.
  • Advise engineering lead of design issues, technical options, and engineering related change orders or claims.
  • Monitor and steward performance of the discipline activities by the EPC contractor.
  • Review engineering deliverables for quality, accuracy, compliance to specifications, and meeting scope.
  • Advise Engineering Lead on any potential specification or standards deviations in given discipline.
  • Collaborate with EPC contractor and other discipline engineers to identify and resolve design issues.
  • Facilitate alignment on scope interfaces with other elements as well as with existing facilities within given discipline.
  • Ensure timely preparation of deliverables for and participate in key design reviews such as HAZOP, model reviews, and constructability reviews.
  • Support procurement activities through engineering requirements for purchasing and vendor data review.
  • Manage discipline priorities to deliver timely input to other disciplines thereby facilitating the engineering schedule.

Skills and Experience

  • Has performed engineering and engineering oversight for small and moderate scale projects; robust understanding of technical issues in discipline, affects on other disciplines, and brownfield implications.

Job Description

  • Has overall responsibility for managing LNG plant construction works at a dedicated offsite yard.
  • This includes:
  • Construction PIC and POC with Technology Provider and EPCIC Contractor.
  • Construction of LNG modules at a dedicated offsite facility or facilities in the Far East.
  • Participating in Constructability Reviews.
  • Yard Qualification(s).
  • Reviewing EPC Contractor Construction Execution Plan.
  • Developing QA and HSSE Plans.
  • Managing site inspection and QA team.
  • Ensuring Regulatory Codes and Standards compliance during Construction.
  • Managing the delivery, storage and installation of Owner Furnished Items.
  • Managing the testing and pre-commissioning of equipment and modules.
  • Ensring the safe load-out and transportation of modules, including liaising with Marine Warranty Surveyor.
  • Delivering plant modules and integrating them into the onshore balance-of-plant infrastructure built to accommodate them.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and manage the interfaces between various project phases and various contracts including design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up, and management of a team to meet project objectives, schedule, quality, cost, and safety and risk mitigation requirements.
  • Consult and coordinate with project and engineering teams, EPC contractors and contractors on the construction activities.
  • Monitor and control of all cost aspects of the project, obtain approvals, identify trends and take action to avoid cost overruns.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Input into the preparation of tenders and contract bids.
  • Input into the negotiation and management of contractors involved in the construction process to ensure that the activities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop, monitor and review construction schedule and work activities to ensure that work is done in compliance with specifications, with budget and on time.
  • Organise and coordinate labour resources, local procurement and delivery of materials and equipment and other work programmes and activities on site.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits at the construction site.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation.

Skills and Experience

  • Recognised mechanical engineering degree or its equivalent
  • Significant project execution with extensive experience in management position with broad experience in engineering, and commercial aspects.
  • Extensive modular construction and project execution experience.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one LNG construction project.
  • Hands-on experience with Modular Construction of Oil & Gas facilities .
  • Preferably with experience of Far East construction yards (including China).
  • Preferably to have managed construction projects in excess of $250 million USD total value.
  • Familiarity with Canadian oil & gas project construction rules and regulations would be an advantage.
  • Possess strong ability to integrate operational requirements of the LNG plant into the design and engineering phase of the project.
  • Able to interact and communicate effectively with the project team, EPC contractor, local contractors, regulatory authorities and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership, planning, organising, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong team player, results-oriented, resourceful and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
