Job Description

The Lead Completions/HPHT Well Test Engineer will be accountable for the design, planning, contracting and programming of the HPHT appraisal well testing and completions activity.

The role will also provide support in the areas of conventional completion design, engineering and optimisation (perforating, stimulation) on the existing, normally pressured reservoirs.

  • Reporting to the Well Engineering Manager, the post holder will liaise with the HPHT Drilling Engineer, sub surface team, the Basra based operations team and service company engineers to ensure delivery of high quality well planning activities and programmes to show excellent performance during well execution.
  • Leading by example with a strong commitment to HSSE, to deliver the testing and Completion Engineering and Operations planning work programme through engineering, operations planning and well delivery.
  • Responsible for preparation of completion & stimulation designs and programmes, including flow modelling, stress analysis, equipment specification and selection.
  • Responsible for technical integrity and assurance of job designs and oversee full integration between sub-surface and wells teams during the planning process.
  • Cost estimates
  • Technical risk assessment, management, contingency planning and mitigation.
  • Review of any previous & existing HPHT completion & stimulation designs and recommend design optimisations
  • Create of the completion & intervention elements of the Wells Basis of Design (BoD) and the detailed individual BoD's
  • Support review and selection of well options
  • Specification of installed well equipment (OCTG, wellhead, trees, etc)
  • Contractor Performance Management
  • Ensure alignment with International Standards
  • Coordination of in house technical support and external technical support
  • Prepare scopes of work and specifications for completion and well services invitations to tender, tender evaluation and recommendations.
  • Ensure delivery of third party Quality Assurance and Quality Control on equipment & services in conjunction with quality engineer and technical audit team.
  • Participation in rig/well site and service base audits for conformity to international standards

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record as a strong team player and ability to lead a team with a personal commitment and proactive approach to HSSE.
  • Experience with the development of a local/multinational workforce
  • A strong track record as a Completion/Well Test Engineer with HPHT experience although the manager will accept individuals without HPHT experience.
  • Ability to deliver in a Lead Completions/Intervention Engineering role
  • Strong leadership and supervision, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, demonstrated by an ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Skilled in leading the design and execution of completions for onshore oil or gas wells.
  • Competence with Landmark well engineering software packages (DIMS, Prosper, etc).
  • IWCF Well Control certified or equivalent.
  • Educated to first degree level in drilling engineering or equivalent

As Pipeline Commissioning Engineer your main responsibilities will include:
 

  • Ensure that Safety, Health, Environment Policy and Management System are adhered and that safe working practices are carried out at all times.
  • Develop and prepare Pipeline Precommissioning & Commissioning Execution Plan.
  • Manage preparation of Precommissioning & Commissioning in respect with OPERCOM and all applicable specification: Procedures, Requirement for Tools, Vendors, equipments, manpower, etc and ensure that these resources will be mobilised on time.
  • Manage interfaces with contractor through Contract Manager for all matter related to Precommissioning & Commissioning during the life of the project.
  • Ensure appropriate channel of communication is maintained with management at all levels to ensure operational difficulties are focused on by the relevant expert
  • Interface with Project Team to integrate Pipeline Commissioning Schedule into Project Schedule
  • Prepare Progress monitoring tools for Precommissioning & Commissioning Preparation and Execution
  • Identify and prepare all type of operational and organizational documents related to interfaces with other parties (both external and internal)
  • Review of all PC&C documentation, procedures, engineering drawings, method statements, equipment, and proposed execution planning.
  • Supervise and/or populate data base for pipeline PC&C

 

Qualifications/Training

  • Engineering qualification with extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry and good knowledge of subsea gas pipeline precommissioning and commissioning. North sea working experience will be an advantage.
  • Hands on experience on pipeline flushing, cleaning, gauging, dewatering, drying, and inerting
  • Good understanding on pipeline design code, subsea umbilical, ROV and marine operation.
  • Management capability to effectively and safely lead a commissioning team of contractors and vendors towards successful project completion.
  • In depth knowledge of safety legislation and pipeline engineering/commissioning regulations and procedures.

  • The Lead Commissioning & Start-up Engineer shall be responsible in the commissioning, start-up and initial operations of the assigned Facilities till Handover to the Operations organization.
  • Provide overall commissioning engineering expertise to project activities
  • Review and contribute to the Detailed Design contractor's production of the mechanical deliverables.
  • Assist with all mechanical aspects related to equipment selection, design, installation, commissioning and start-up planning
  • Conduct project team member briefing sessions with respect to engineering requirements and processes
  • Review and provide discipline input to the Mechanical aspect of the Mechanical engineering aspect of the System Completion Tool
  • Prepare and submit engineering progress data, including narratives, charts, graphs, etc. on mechanical engineering issues to the Engineering Supervisor as required

  • Skilled in Commissioning & Start-up planning and execution and capable of overseeing embedment of Flawless Start Up initiatives in projects.
  • Experience in Contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with good communications skills are essential.
  • Thorough understanding of the risks and the technical / commercial issues associated with the development of oil and gas projects and operation of such plants/facilities

Job Description

The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for co-ordinating all activities to ensure that the project meets its obligations to startup first time on time and on budget with an admiral HSE record, and to interface with the project management team to ensure that all areas of the project contribute to these goals.

  • Support the establishment of the strategies, plans and targets for the define and execute phase to ensure that key project objectives are met in respect to HSE, quality/performance, schedule and cost.
  • To ensure compliance with engineering procedures, International codes, standards & approved codes of practice
  • The review & approval of all Commissioning electrical engineering documents created by the contractor
  • Contribute to the development of the required overall progress monitoring tools for the define/ execute phases and provide timely information of progress to the CSU Lead
  • Input to the Commissioning & Completions Management Systems (CCMS) including review & approval of project specific ITRs
  • Responsible Input to project plans and schedules, achievement of agreed schedule, during the course of the project or study or early identification of project areas of concern with necessary corrective action identified

  • Prepare relevant electrical equipment/system commissioning/energisation and testing procedures.
  • Ensure that the electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities are properly organized, scheduled and conducted in a structured and safe manner, to test and certify that the installed equipment/systems, comply with the agreed performance parameters indicated in the design documents and specifications.
  • Cooperate and support the CSU Operations team in the execution of Commissioning & Start-up activities.

Skills & Experience
