
Orbit
Orbit is a structured control tool with three primary functions:
- An electronic warehouse for the storage of data
- A system for monitoring task accomplishment
- A means of reporting the Completion status of an item, system, plant and ultimately the project.
Orbit will clearly define Completion and Commissioning requirements and retain focus on priorities and targets through all phases of a project, irrespective of size and complexity.
By using both .Net and SQL Server technologies, Orbit is a robust, stable and highly configurable software system which can be quickly deployed and tailored to meet the needs of any specific project.
Completions Management Software
Orbit Tag Database
Paper (conventional) Checksheets. Using the latest barcode technology each checksheet is electronically mapped to its associated tag.
Reduced Paper Inspection (RPI). Utilizing a Field Check Report whereby multiple checksheets can be managed on one report, reducing paper but maintaining the wet signature sign off traceability.
Punchlist Management & Control – Orbit is capable of storing records identifying incorrect, damaged and/or non conforming equipment.
Site and Technical Query Control and management – Orbit is capable of recording and monitoring all project site and technical queries from inception to close-out.
Preservation Management and Control - Traceable history is available from initial preservation accountability (delivery to warehouse) through to equipment handover
Orbit Import and Population
Automatic Importation – Information contained within standard engineering databases and registers are transferred into prepared Microsoft Excel 2003 spreadsheets and uploaded into Orbit.
Population Verification – Orbit data is put through a two phase verification process before system, sub-system static or dynamic activities commence.
Population Integrity – Orbit will identify shortfalls during data population.
Manual Population – Orbit can be manually updated with new data easily and quickly.
Hazardous Area Equipment
Orbit identifies the Tag and Area relationship during data import and ensures during the course of Mechanical Completion and Commissioning activities the equipment is registered, inspected and certified.
Orbit Management of Change (MoC)
Orbit has an inbuilt Change Management system that can be activated and enforced by the Orbit Administrator upon the commencement of Mechanical Completion.
Orbit Certification
At various stages in the project there will be a requirement for formal hard copy handover certification to be produced. Orbit is cable of generating certificates and automatically storing the document against the sub system using the latest barcode technology.
Orbit Dynamic Commissioning Preparation & Reporting
Dynamic Procedures are ‘digitally monitored’ for status and stage Completion. Each dynamic procedure is ‘digitized’ into stages and reported for Completion in the same manner as that employed for reporting static tag Completion.
Orbit Planning and S Curves
S Curves can be quickly built using a System and Sub System hierarchy breakdown, showing planned against actual checksheet and certification Completion.
Orbit Dashboard
The Orbit digital dashboard allows all project personnel to monitor the contribution of the various groups of the project.
Orbit Reporting
Status is available at any time by the generation of a report in any number of numerous formats and as per the user’s requirements.
Orbit Training
Training is provided on a ‘one on one’ or classroom approach depending on course type and client preference. Training can be held at the Newcastle OCCMS UK Support Office or any client preferred location (onshore or offshore)
Classroom training aides, written and developed by professional technical writers.
Completions and Commissioning competency testing is carried out as pre requisite before training programmes commence.
