OCCMS Launches its Obangue Team

OCCMS, Orion Completions & Commissioning Management Services, enjoyed its first fruits of success recently when the team pictured here, arrived in Gabon, to begin work on the Obangue East Facility for Addax Petroleum.

The contract for the service was awarded to Orion by Addax Petroleum, based in Geneva Switzerland. It is a full OCCMS application using the most up to date versions of the Management System, the Completions Database ORBIT and a group of experienced and carefully selected Orion personnel.

The Obangue East Facility is an in-country development some way inland (in the jungle…!) in Gabon. The only means of access is a short flight by plane or helicopter or if weather permits, a six hour boat journey. It is a fully stand alone production complex, taking fluid from surrounding production wells, which processes this into oil and gas, before delivering oil by pipeline to either the coast for tanker export or as gas to a nearby LNG plant.

The team is currently residing in the Addax main office in Port Gentil, south of the country capital Libreville. The team members will initially identify the work scope for themselves and local contractors in order to carry out installation and construction. When the construction work is finished and accepted by the OCCMS team, they will mobilise to the field and take over, complete and start-up the facility ready for handover to Addax Operations.

The project and contract is a major milestone for OCCMS and for the continual development within the OrionGroup. We wish the team every success in what is its first major OCCMS undertaking.
